Bag of Money
Arnold, Gerald, and Sid find a bag of money, but when Arnold is trusted to hold it and loses it on the bus, everybody
thinks he stole it
Written by Steve Viksten
Storyboard Direction by Tim Parsons
Animation Direction by Christine Kolosov
Storyboard Artist: Diane Kredensor
Cast:
Arnold - Spencer Klein
Gerald - Jamil Smith
Harold - Justin Shenkarow
Sid - Sam Gifaldi
Stinky - Christopher Walberg
Rhonda - Olivia Hack
Grandpa, police officer - Dan Castellaneta
Old lady on bus - Georgia Engel
Monkeyman (uncredited) - Andy Dick
- When Arnold is counting the money, it's in loose piles, but when he puts it back
into the bag, the piles aren't loose any more
- Just how big is Vine Street if there's a police station with the street name
on it and Arnold has to take the bus to get there? (Then again, it's probably at least 41 blocks long, since the
numbers go up to at least 4040)
- Er, if I had a bag with over $3000 in cash, I'd make sure to keep one hand -
make that BOTH hands - on the bag at all times
- Iggy removes his sunglasses - twice
- It may have looked as if every kid was in this episode except Helga, but you may have blinked; Helga was briefly in the classroom scene (Phoebe was
with Helga as well as at the ice cream truck; Sheena was in the playground just before Sid's speech)
- Now it's Sid's turn to say "Hey Arnold!"
-
At the end of the scene with Arnold and Gerald sitting on a
stoop (just before Monkeyman runs by), the number on
Gerald's shirt is mirror image (it looks like a rounded
"EE").
- I assume the "Monkeyman!" line was taken from "Monkeyman!",
which is why there was no credit for it
- Like Arnold's $500
keyboard in "Spelling Bee", this episode is the only time
the bag of money, or any possible reward, is ever mentioned.

Principal Simmons
When Mr. Simmons complains to Principal Wartz about the way he treats kids, Wartz resigns, but "Principal
Simmons" soon discovers that his way isn't much better
Written by Joseph Purdy
Story by Joseph Purdy and Robert Lamoreaux
Storyboard Direction by Tim Parsons
Animation Direction by Christine Kolosov
Storyboard Artist: Diane Kredensor
Cast:
Arnold - Spencer Klein
Helga - Francesca Smith
Harold - Justin Shenkarow
Rhonda - Olivia Hack
Eugene - Ben Diskin
Curly - Adam Wylie
Wolfgang - Toran Caudell
Mr. Simmons - Dan Butler
Principal Wartz - David Wohl
Superintendent Chaplin - Jack Angel (credited as "Superintendant/Chaplin")
- Principal Wartz has a habit of not knowing the students' names - but he knows
Rhonda's (at least her last name)
- Rhonda's shoes are more like platform shoes than the ones she usually wears
- The school song music is the same as Cornell University's, but P.S. 118 wouldn't
be the first (by far) to use an existing school song's music
- When was Simmons "Teacher of the Year"?
- The window on Principal Wartz's office door had his name on it, but when Simmons
took over, the window was blank
- When Brainy is tossed into the air, his glasses fall off
- The karaoke is at "Kenji's"; Kenji Notani is a background painter
- In the karaoke crowd: the Heyerdahls, the Wittenbergs, Big Bob's business partner,
and (I think) Eugene's father
- Jack Angel was credited as "Superintendant / Chaplin" instead of Superintendent
Chaplin
- ...and they did spell it "Superintendant" (instead of the correct "superintendent")
-
There are two versions of this episode; I think the original
had the closing credits over the closing song by Principal
Wartz and Mr. Simmons, but because Nickelodeon (USA) doesn't
usually show the closing credits of its shows and a number
of people wanted to see the closing song, a second version
was made with the closing song but without the credits,
followed by a normal set of closing credits
