  • I still say it seems strange that "Grandpa's Birthday" (and "Monkey Business") seemed to go out of its way to avoid the word "dead", but in this story Sid comes right out and says "Principal Wartz is dead".
  • Mr. Simmons rides a motorcycle - with a sidecar.
  • "How do you know the nurse's name?"  She's Sheena's Aunt Shelley, as mentioned in "Rhonda's Glasses".
  • "How do you know the police officer's name?"  She appears in "Harold's Kitty"
  • When Principal Wartz trips on the fake vomit, there are 18 kids in the cafeteria laughing at him, 16 of which are fourth graders.
  • When Sid is in Principal Wartz's office the first time, the door says "Principal Wartz" in black letters, but when the name is being scraped off, the door says "Mr. Wartz, Principal" in yellow letters.
  • How Do We Know Dr. Steiglitz Isn't Somebody's Grandpa: Dan Castellaneta, the voice of the doctor, is credited only as "Grandpa" (who didn't appear).

Roller Coaster
To prove to everyone that Eugene is not cursed, Arnold goes on a roller coaster ride with him - and they both get stuck
Written by Joseph Purdy
Storyboard Direction by Larry Leichliter
Animation Direction by Christine Kolosov
Storyboard Artists: Aldin Baroza, Carson Kugler, Ted Seko, Rick Hoberg

Arnold - Phillip Van Dyke
Eugene - Ben Diskin (credited as "Disken")
Helga - Francesca Marie Smith
Gerald - Jamil Smith
Harold - Justin Shenkarow
Phoebe, female park worker - Anndi L. McAfee
Sid - Sam Gifaldi
Stinky - Christopher Walberg
Lucky, male park worker - Gregg Berger

  • Arnold and Eugene were the only ones on the ride at the time; did everybody in line think Eugene was a jinx, or did it just so happen that the previous cars filled before Arnold and Eugene got there?
  • Wooden coasters don't usually have loop-the-loops; if, for whatever reason, the cars slow down in the loop, they would fall off the track.
  • There are two versions of this episode.  Originally, the closing credits appeared over the ending scene with Eugene going around and around in the roller coaster.  When Nickelodeon switched to its "squeezed" credits format, a second version was created with the credits removed from that scene, and a new set of credits (over the "normal" credits background) added to the end.  (This was later done with "Principal Simmons" as well.)
