Heat
A hot day goes from bad to worse for Arnold; a brownout causes the house's air conditioner to stop working, a fire
keeps the fire hydrants dry, the city pool is full, and the ice cream truck man wants $18 for a Sno-Cone, which
Arnold (with a little help from Helga climbing the truck) turns into a riot - looks like somebody didn't "Do
the Right Thing"

Helga - Francesca Marie Smith (credited as "Francesa")
Brainy, radio DJ - Craig Bartlett
Eugene - Christopher J. Castile
Harold - Justin Shenkarow
Sid, Iggy (uncredited; unconfirmed) - Sam Gifaldi
Grandpa, Jolly Olly man - Dan Castellaneta
Grandma - Tress MacNeille
Ernie - Dom Irrera
Mr. Green - James Keane
Harvey - Lou Rawls
Lana - Christine Ebersole
Oskar - Steve Viksten
Man in pool - Quintin Flynn
uncredited: Voice in traffic jam (note it's not Caesar doing the
speaking, as his lips don't move)
- Arnold wears briefs (as opposed to boxer shorts)
- Something you don't see every day: Sid's hair (and in this episode, he's got
a full head of hair, but in "Helga's Makeover" and "Wheezin' Ed", it's all stringy)
- Something else you don't see every day: Gerald isn't wearing his "33"
shirt
- Fire hydrants don't spray their water from the top (and turning them on is usually
illegal)
- Uh, how is the ice cream man supposed to make money if he's setting the prices
so high that nobody will buy any?
- The pool does not allow horseplay, kicking, splashing, diving, drinking pool
water, or kids (but pets are OK) - and what pool allows swimmers to wear hats?
- Gerald, Park, Sid, Brainy, Iggy, Rhonda, and Sheena are wearing long pants despite
the heat
- Speaking of clothes, all of the girls are wearing what they usually wear, but
quite a few of the boys are wearing less than usual
- Quite a few kids, including Phoebe and Ruth, disappear once the trouble begins
- When the truck is first being tipped, Eugene is on the other side from everyone
else
- There's no credit for Iggy, but he does have a line (right when Helga gets on
the ice cream truck); the voice sounds like Sid's (I wouldn't be surprised if it was recorded for Sid but animated
as Iggy)

Snow
It's the first snow of the season and P.S. 118 is closed, so Arnold is headed out to play in the snow - just
as soon as he helps Grandpa clear the sidewalk of snow, fix the furnace, put snow tires on the car, store the wood,...

Cast:
Arnold - Toran Caudell
Gerald - Jamil W. Smith
Helga - Francesca Marie Smith
Eugene - Christopher J. Castile
Harold - Justin Shenkarow
Grandpa, bus driver, Grandpa's grandfather - Dan Castellaneta
Grandma, Harold's aunt - Tress MacNeille
Ernie - Dom Irrera
Harvey - Lou Rawls
Mr. Hyunh - Baoan Coleman
Oskar - Steve Viksten
Radio DJ - Craig Bartlett
- Mr. Hyunh admits he is from Vietnam, something he left out of the Christmas Special
(although the clues all pointed to it), and also that he was born after 1949 (which means he was younger than 26
when he sent his daughter here in 1975)
- Helga's snow-Arnold has five carrots on the left (facing Helga) and four on the
right, just as Arnold is usually drawn with five "spikes" of hair on the left and four on the right
- All of the kids except Arnold are wearing either earmuffs or large hats -
then again, what earmuffs or hat will cover Arnold's ears?
- Grandpa certainly waited long enough after creating the "ice rink"
before telling Arnold about it
- Somebody Call The Animators: when Arnold is on the roof, one of his socks suddenly
gets a hard bottom sole
