6th Grade Girls
A couple of sixth graders who notice Arnold and Gerald at the community pool decide to take them to a dance, but
Arnold and Gerald don't realize it's just to make the girls' boyfriends jealous
Written by Steve Viksten
Storyboard Direction by Dan Povenmire
Animation Direction by Juli Murphy-Hashiguchi
Storyboard Artists: Debbie Baber, Sherm Cohen
Cast:
Arnold - Toran Caudell
Gerald - Jamil W. Smith
Maria - Mayim Bialik
Connie - Pamela Hayden
Burt - Frank Martorana
Tommy, Melvin - Michael Bacall
Maria's father, taxi driver - Michael David Donovan
- Guest voices: Mayim Bialik (Blossom on Blossom) as Maria, and Pamela Hayden (Milhouse on The
Simpsons) as Connie
- In the opening shot of the pool, the "short" diving board isn't there
- The dials on the cab meter ran independently of each other; the fare went from
5.90 to 5.00 and from 5.40 to 6.50
- Maria's sunglasses are oval shaped (like Phoebe's glasses) - and so are
her eyes
- Maria's address is 39 4th Street #22, but the building isn't big enough to have
22 apartments (especially apartments with interior stairs)
- Somebody Call The Animators: while walking down the stairs, Maria only has three
toes on each foot; she has four at the pool
- How did Maria and Connie figure out that Arnold and Gerald were fourth (as opposed
to, say, third or fifth) graders?
- Most of the people at the dance are sixth graders - so where's Ruth?
- The sign outside of the center said "PS 118 DANCE TONITE", so why was
it held so far away from PS 118?
- How did Arnold and Gerald get back home if the dance was held somewhere that
required an expensive cab ride?
- On the televised episode, there was no credit given for Melvin (the punch pourer
at the dance), but there is a credit given for him in the "Love Stinks" tape

The Baseball
Arnold watches his favorite baseball player play his last game (or at least he tries to, from his upper-deck restricted-view
seat) - and ends up catching the home run ball he hit in his last time at bat

Mickey Kaline - Ron Perlman
TV reporter, stadium announcer - Billy Riback
- Guest voice: Ron Perlman (the TV series Beauty
And The Beast (nothing to do with the Disney movie)) as Mickey Kaline;
I wonder if there are any Al Kaline fans on the staff
- Don't try this in your league: Mickey Kaline wasn't wearing a batting helmet
- Next to Arnold's "THIS IS NOT MONEY" jar is "Donna Smith's Spelling
Book"; Donna Smith is the show's production manager
- Mickey Kaline's name isn't on the back of his uniform
- In one of Arnold's running scenes, he passes an empty section which is next to
a section filled with people
- Some of the ads in the stadium: Pop Top Kola, Green's Hawaii Tours, Your Ad Here,
B-EYE TV ("First In Happy News"), ZING! (Shave X-Tra Smooth)
- The scoreboard had the home team on top, which never happens (since the visiting
team always bats first), and the sum of the individual inning runs should have had the score 2-1, but the totals
said 4-3
- Somebody Call Frannie Smith's Agent: Helga had a speaking part, but she wasn't
listed in the credits for this story
