The Little Pink Book
Helga's little pink book, full of love poems about Arnold, falls into Arnold's hands, and Helga has to get it back before Arnold gets to the last page (the only place where she put her own name), even if it means hiding in Arnold's closet all night
Written by Craig Bartlett
Storyboard Direction by Bert Ring
Animation Direction by Don Judge
(no Storyboard Artist credited - not even on the
The Helga Stories tape)

Cast:
Arnold - Toran Caudell
Gerald - Jamil W. Smith
Helga - Francesca Marie Smith
Eugene - Christopher J. Castile
Stinky - Christopher P. Walberg
Grandpa - Dan Castellaneta
Mr. Green - James Keane

  • Arnold writes left-handed; Helga, who does most things left-handed, writes right-handed (for those of you taking notes, Gerald and Brainy also write right-handed)
  • Arnold's eyes are supposed to be green, according to Helga
  • How does Helga do her math homework if her math book has a giant hole in the middle of each page?
  • On the "Presidents of the United States" sign behind Helga, the word "United" becomes "Nvited"
  • Duh: Arnold wonders if the blonde lock of hair is Ruth's, who is a redhead (and why would somebody put their own hair in a book of love poems...and how soon before Arnold remembers that Helga cut off a lock of his hair?)
  • Arnold goes to bed at 7:00
  • Arnold doesn't put his clothes in his closet when he goes to bed
  • Helga always says she'll tell Arnold how she feels about him if they ever get alone together; when Gerald leaves, they're alone, yet Helga stays in his closet
  • At the end, Helga grabs the last page...but Arnold still has the rest of the book! (But between you and me, even if Arnold figures out that Helga wrote the poems (and considering that he got as far as "H,E,L" in the last one, that wouldn't be too hard), he'd probably consider it just another joke she was playing on him)

Field Trip
Arnold's class goes to the aquarium, where they discover that "Lock Jaw", the monstrous creature they remember from their last trip years ago, is really an old, tired, graffiti-covered turtle, so Arnold and Grandma return that night to set it free
